You know, I think this looks better in real life, off-screen, from a distance, at an angle.

I used willow charcoal, which is really soft, on copy paper. Yes, yes, I know. You don't use charcoal on copy paper.

I do what I want.

Since there was nothing to grip the medium and I didn't want to mix soft charcoal with compressed charcoal, the contrast isn't as great as it could be.

I didn't want to upload this. In fact, I did upload it before, but I took it down. I haven't made a lot of time to draw recently, and this is the closest thing to real drawing that I've done since I was in school. It's not the best drawing, but you can't love 'em all. I put it here anyways so I feel like I'm still doing something productive.

So, here's Merlin. Ignore the horrible shadows. It was good practice for me. And that piece of charcoal that has been floating around my room for months has finally been put to good use.
