Description
Besides Loki, the Red Skull might just be my favorite bad guy. Or at least Marvel comic bad guy. He's pretty fun to draw, a little creepy though.
I had an image in my head of what I wanted the final piece to look like. I came close, it's just not as dark as I imagined it.
I decided to go with black paper and charcoal/pastels/conte. For lighting, I took my Nick Fury action figure and shot pictures of his nicely bald head in different lighting. The lights in the final piece are a bit off, I'm sure. I had to make some of it up since Red Skull's face is more gnarly than Mr. Fury's. I forgot that when you spray fixatif on chalk drawings, the colors start to disappear if they get too wet (like the white and yellow on his head. Not as much black background showed through before I sprayed it.).
